Raymond Holman Jr. Photography
Tell me about your business.
I have been a professional photographer for over 25 years. My background is photojournalism/documentary/corporate/wedding photography. For the past eight years I have been working on a project focused on family caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s disease. I am in the earily stages of a campaign to self publish a book on family caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s.
What is the problem that your business solves?
I made a decision years ago to document the lives of the community I live in. And to pass my knowledge of photography to younger people who have a great interest in pursuing photography as a career.
What made you decide to be the one to solve this problem?
I have always had the belief I am suppose to use my skills as a photographer. The decision to use it as an inner feeling that I can capture photographic images that can touch the human heart.
When my father died from Alzheimer’s disease in 2001 it became every clear what I had to focus on.
What was your biggest fear when starting your business and how did you move past it?
I had no idea how I was going to make a living as a photographer. The way I moved beyond that fear was to understand that, photography is what I am suppose to do! There is no option.
What are your three keys to success when it comes to building your business (and why)?
True belief in yourself
As a business owner, what has been your biggest lesson learned?
Never ever give up!
Where can others find you?
